Europe is the place where my grandparents were born, but had to escape
Europe is the place where my grandparents were born, but had to escape. It’s also the place to which I moved and had the privilege to live in four different countries. The fascinating kaleidoscope of cultures, languages, landscapes and ideas that is Europe never ceases to amaze me. But I can also see how this unique fabric now threatens to tear itself apart. Despite all I’ve heard and learned about Europe’s various dark eras, I could never imagine I would find myself in the midst of one. But I also know that Europeans can shine, chart themselves a new, better course. When they come together.
